The production of our belts:
After having bought the cow hides, the straps are cut using a special belt-cutting maschine in our standard widths of 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0cm. Wider belts and non-standard orders are cut by hand.
In order to guarantee years of pleasurable use, and to perfect the strap, we bevel the edges, so that they cannot roughen or tear and become unsightly These bevelled edges are then dyed by hand usnig a special leather dye which seals the leather and ensures a perfect optical appearance. Finally, one end of the belt strap is thinned out to ensure that the buckle and loop sit comfortably and neatly.
The belt is now ready to be put together using the chosen buckle and any other components. This final step is either completed at one of our markets or in our workshop, to customer specifications. This method enables us to offer many individual combinations in lengths up to 160cm (in black, brown or tan up to 200cm).
We offer the following colours:
black, brown, tan, antique black, antique brown.
The strap colours antique brown and antique black have a nubuk surface finish and are approx. 3.5 - 4.0mm. thick.
The straps in black, brown and tan have a smooth polished surface finish and are approx. 3.0 - 3.5mm. thick.
All our leather hides are naturally tanned and through-dyed using analine dyes. The tanning method used ensures a natural product of premium quality, whose leather is very pleasant to wear, extremely hard-wearing, robust and yet becomes increasingly soft with use.
Our buckle collection comprises the following colours:
antique silver, nickel gloss, brushed nickel satin, antique brass, brass gloss.
In the standard widths 30mm., 35mm. and 40mm.. we offer matching loops and tips. Leather loops are also available.
A large number of our buckles are nickel-free and can be found using the search function (under "nickel-free").
If you would like a belt combination which we have not shown in our collection, we can make the required model at no extra charge.
